The video shows a white Ford transit van pulling into the side of the road on Stone Lane at Shirebrook Valley nature reserve before one man wearing a grey top and black trousers gets out and appears to begin unloading rubbish from the van.

Around 30 seconds later the van drives off, leaving a pile of waste in a spot which was previously clear. The van’s registration plate can clearly be seen in the CCTV footage.

A Shirebrook Valley spokesperson said: “The nature reserve is a space for local residents to enjoy, not a dumping ground for the lazy and inconsiderate.”

Last year Sheffield was named as the fifth-worst fly-tipping hotspot in the UK.

The incident is being investigated by Sheffield City Council, whose environmental enforcement officers can issue £400 fines anyone caught fly-tipping.
