Sheffield's most rat-infested streets revealed – including one with 89 reports in the last year

The 11 Sheffield streets with the biggest rat problem have been revealed.

Sheffield Council has released figures showing the number of reports of rats received in the last year.

In one street, there were 89 reports during 2020, the statistics, published in response to a Freedom of Information Act, show.

However, the council says the figures include ‘proactive rat treatments’ in the S4 postcode, covering Burngreave, Grimesthorpe, Page Hall and Pitsmoor, and it should also be noted that some streets – like Herries Road and City Road – are considerably longer than others.

Between them, there were 244 separate rat reports for the top 11 streets – with three in a tie for ninth place on the list – in 2020.

That’s massively down on the previous year, when just 10 streets accounted for 1,073 reports of the rodents.

Here are the top 10 streets in Sheffield with the most instances of reports of rats.
