Resident Bert O’bert has called for action to clean up Page Hall after taking these pictures on Sunday, April 12 showing litter and fly-tipping sprawled across the streets.

He said: “This is a complete disgrace – is there any wonder we have a huge rat infestation around here?

This is a daily occurrence– usually the piles will be moved Monday morning but as it is a bank holiday the piles will be added to and remain until Tuesday,

“I fear for everyone’s health round here due to the thoughtlessness of the few.”

Mr O’bert added: “ All these years, complaints, phone calls, meetings, council leaders, councillors , MPs, street patrol wardens – what exactly have any of these done for us over the last 10 years?”

“Thy know exactly where its happening and more or less when. Apart from the odd fine nothing has been done in 10 years or more.”

“I ask, all this money, time and effort put in just to keep constantly clearing this mess up , what could it have been spent on ?

“Over the years it's got to be well into the hundreds of thousands if not more, yet nobody comes up with a strategy to stop it , there are many many good people round here of all backgrounds and are simply fed up of it all , these high ranking council officials and councillors only want to show their face when it's pat on the back time.

“I strongly urge they get together somehow , even if it's by video link in these worrying times and come up with a plan , this is not acceptable , it's a disgrace that we are expected to live like this and put up with it.”

Page Hall has previously hit the headlines for litter.

Sheffield City Council has been approached for a comment.
