COUNCIL chiefs are urging voters to take advantage of a cheap and speedy way to register for voting.
Electoral registration forms have been delivered to all households in Barnsley by Royal Mail and the council has set up an e-registration service through which people can reply online or by text - saving postage costs and time. Call 01226 773 070 for information.
Voter registration forms will soon be dropping through letterboxes across Chesterfield and residents are urged to return them as soon as possible to help the council prepare for elections next year.
Electoral Registration Officer Huw Bowen and his staff will be sending the documents to households over the coming months to compile the electoral register.
