Enjoy Sheffield evening wildlife walk

Families will have the chance to see animals and birds that are active after the sun goes down at an evening wildlife walk planned at a Sheffield nature reserve.

Batty About Newts will take place on Friday, July 25, on Wharncliffe Heathlands Reserve, Deepcar.

Tawny owls, bats and newts are likely to be among the creatures that will be spotted by participants.

Pond-dipping equipment and bat detectors will be provided as part of the event.

Those attending should meet at the River Don bridge, Station Road, Deepcar at 8.30pm.

The event is scheduled to last until about 11pm.

People are advised to bring a torch, while children should be accompanied by adults.
