BAKEWELL Old House Museum is looking back at how local ladies played a part in breaking the Enigma Code during World War Two.
The Codebreakers supper takes place on Saturday, May 14 at 7.30pm. It will introduce the Derbyshire women who worked round the clock in “the huts” at Bletchley Park, receiving German radio signals and decrypting them.
Visitors can also hear a short talk by David Westwood, author of a book on the U-boat war, plus music from the 1940s. Attendees are encouraged to dress in ’40s costume.
For tickets, priced £9 for adults and £6 for children, call 01629 813 642.
