Emergency services called to three-car smash on major Sheffield road

A three-car collision on a major Sheffield road caused delays earlier this morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the smash on the Sheffield Parkway at 7.25am and found a Nissan Almera, a Vauxhall Astra and a Hyundai involved.

The crash happened on the inter-city bound stretch of the Sheffield Parkway, close to junction 33 of the M1.

It is not believed that anyone was seriously hurt.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At about 7.25am, it is reported that three cars, a Nissan Almera, a Vauxhall Astra and a Hyundai, were involved in a collision.

"The extent of injuries is not yet known although they are not thought to be serious at this time."
