Tragedy as biker killed in crash which closed Sheffield Parkway
Major crash stopped traffic on busy road for hours on Monday evening
A biker has tragically lost his life after a crash which closed one of Sheffield’s busiest roads.
The incident, on the Sheffield Parkway, happened shortly before 7pm on Monday, July 6 and police believe the motorcyclist who was killed in the collision had struck a kerb.
It is thought no other vehicles were involved in the collision.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was reportedly deployed to the scene.

South Yorkshire Police said in a statement today: “It is reported that around 6.45pm yesterday (Monday, July 6) a black Triumph motorbike was travelling on the A57 Sheffield Parkway, away from the Park Square roundabout and towards Prince of Wales Interchange, when it hit a curb and crashed.
“No other vehicle is thought to have been involved in the collision.
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the rider of the bike, a man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the man’s family has been informed and is being supported by police
An investigation is underway and police are now appealing witnesses.
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the bike being ridden before the collision or who has relevant dashcam footage.
Anyone who thinks they can help is being urged to report online or call 101, quoting incident number 906 of July 6, 2026.
