Police explain major presence at Peak District beauty spot near Sheffield
Police cars sent to National Park to deal with incident
Police have explained why officers and patrol cars were sent to a rural beauty spot near the outskirts of Sheffield.
Concerned locals described seeing three police cars and two police vans, with their blue lights flashing and sirens blaring on New Road, near Bamford Edge, near the border between Sheffield and Derbyshire.

Pictures show the cars at the scene at around 3pm, and later parked along the road.
Derbyshire Constabulary said in a short statement: “This was a report of a concern for the safety of a woman. The woman was located safe and well.”
