South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency 999 call at 2.27am after the flames had been seen on Petre Street, which runs from Burngreave to Brightside.

They sent a fire engine from Elm Lane Fire Station, with firefighters quickly putting the fire out.

They were on the scene for just over half an hour, leaving just before 3am today (September 9).

The fire service say there are no suspicious circumstances and that the fire is believed to have been started accidentally.
