The police search has been called off

A police search for two Rotherham girls has been called off after they were found safe.

The two 14-year-olds were reported missing after last being seen on Monday.

Police said at the time that they thought the teens were together.

The alarm was raised after one girl was last seen in the East Herringthorpe area at 11.40am on Monday, and the other, also 14, was last seen in the East Dene area at 4pm that day.

In an update, South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers are no longer searching for Ruby and Makayla from Rotherham. Thank you to the public who have supported and shared our appeals.”
