M1 junction 35 crash: Motorway closed near Sheffield after lorry incident
Part of the M1 has been closed near Sheffield and emergency services are on the scene following an incident involving a lorry.
National Highways have confirmed that traffic has been stopped on the southbound carriageway after the incident this morning on the M1, near Chapeltown.

They said in a statement at 11.07am: “Traffic is held on the M1 southbound in South Yorkshire between J35a and J35.
“This is due to a HGV that has left the carriageway within J35. All emergency services are on scene.”
Pictures show three fire engines on the scene, which appears to be close to a junction, as well as a number of police cars.
South Yorkshire Police told The Star: “We are currently responding to reports of an HGV leaving the carriageway on the M1 southbound near J35.
“The southbound carriageway is currently closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area.”
The Star has also approached South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service for more information.
