A North Derbyshire blaze which claimed four lives was caused by an electrical fault, fire investigators have said.
The blaze, which killed two women and two young brothers, was sparked by a fault in electrical wiring between the ground and first floor of the property on Williamthorpe Road, North Wingfield.
Jordan Green, aged 12, and his nine-year-old brother Tyler died along with their mother Josie Leighton, 32, and her friend Claire James, 27, in the fire on Wednesday, November 20.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thorough investigations point to an accidental fire caused by a fault in electrical wiring between the ground and first floor of the property.
“Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service would once again like to convey its thoughts and sympathy to the families of the deceased at this very distressing time.”
A spokesman said the brigade would also like to remind people of the importance of having working smoke alarms fitted on every level of their homes.
