An elderly man was found dead at home this afternoon when ambulances, a fire engine and police were called to a private property on Thorpe Close, near Bramall Lane.

Police received a call at around 3.40pm (May 18) with reports of concern for the safety of an elderly man.
Officers attended a property along with the ambulance service.
An 81-year-old man was found deceased inside his home.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
