HOLIDAY bosses today stressed the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh remained safe as tourists prepared to fly out from Doncaster.
The latest flight from Robin Hood Airport to the Red Sea venue was due to head out this morning.
Tanks have been on the streets of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, as protesters call for their president Hosni Mubarak to stand down.
But flight operator Thomson said it was confident Government advice against non-essential travel to specific cities, rather than to the whole of Egypt was correct.
A spokesman said: “The majority of our customers are in Sharm el Sheikh, which has not been affected by the demonstrations and is a considerable distance – indeed, an eight-hour drive – from Cairo.”
