A £4 million project to redevelop Worksop College has been approved.

The project, which includes the construction of a new 60-bed boarding house, will create space within existing buildings for a redesigned sixth form centre, library and IT suite.

Work is set to start in November, with the building project due to be completed and ready for use in January 2016.

Headmaster Gavin Horgan said: “The new boarding facility has been very carefully planned, incorporating the most modern of facilities combined with stunning design and build quality.

“It will not only provide outstanding boys’ boarding facilities that will see each room with stunning views across to Clumber Park, but it will also enable us to develop further our Sixth Form, library, IT and other facilities.”

Plans and drawings of the new college will be available for inspection at an open day at the college between 9.30am and 11.30am today.
