A UNIVERSITY lecturer has scooped a top accolade for her commitment to raising the aspirations of learners.

Stella Jones-Devitt, head of the Centre for Leadership in Health and Social Care at Sheffield Hallam University, won a National Teaching Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy.

Stella won the fellowship, which includes a £10,000 cash prize to be used for her professional development, for delivering inspiring and creative teaching.

More than 180 nominations were received for the 55 fellowships, which are the most prestigious awards for excellence in higher education teaching.
