Tax dodging campaign in student union spotlight

Have your say

Sheffield University students are to place a four- foot Russian doll outside their union building today as part of a campaign to demand an end to company secrecy which they say robs developing countries of at least $160bn a year through lost taxes.

Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield said: “Company secrecy is a major obstacle in cracking down on tax dodgers which is why Christian Aid has been calling for a public registry of UK company owners so it’s clear who owns companies and for whose benefit they are run.”
