A new study programme aims to improve the prospects of Sheffield students during tough economic times.

From September full-time Sheffield College students will choose a personalised programme of extra work-related and personal development options.

All can complete work placements, be helped with job searches, or access English and maths booster lessons.

Three curriculum areas will move to new locations across the college’s sites, affecting 227 students.

Heather MacDonald, college chief executive, said: “We want our students to be better prepared for their future.”
