More than 100 members of The University of Sheffield Students’ Union will be supporting a special day of free sport and activities for children and young people surviving or suffering from cancer.
Do It For You is a day of sport that encourages young cancer patients aged two to 16 to try different activities in a safe family-friendly environment.
The project was developed at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in partnership with Sport Sheffield, The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Volunteering and has the involvement of more than 100 student volunteers.
Previous events over the past two years proved to be a huge success, with more than 500 visitors - including patients, siblings, parents and volunteers.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 10am to 3pm at The English Institute of Sport, Coleridge Road, Sheffield.
The project and organising team have been nominated for several local and national awards, including The Children’s Star Award.
