A Rotherham primary school has won a top award for its commitment to cycling and sustainable travel.

Dalton Listerdale School received a Sustrans’ Silver School Mark Award from the organisation’s shools Officer Natalie Whelan.

She said: “It is fantastic to see the school doing so much to help kids cycle confidently and safely.

“Over the last two years the school has hosted its own bike to school days with free Dr Bike sessions, and pupils have learned so much by taking part in bike maintenance and puncture repair classes, cycle skills sessions and more.

“Staff, pupils and parents have all shown a great commitment to cycling.”
