Great cookery won Sheffield College catering staff and students medals galore at the country’s largest food service and hospitality event.
Staff Maxene Gray, Chris Kerigan, Gregg Rodgers and Len Unwin, and 10 students clinched two gold medals and a silver at Hotelympia in London. They took part in Salon Culinaire, comprising more than 80 competition classes over four days to showcase skills and talent within the industry.
Staff competed in three categories. Students were invited by the Craft Guild of Chefs to make canapés for 60 guests in three-and-a-half hours, and won gold. Maxene Gray said: “It was one of the proudest moments in my teaching career.”
