Sheffield schools sign up to campaign to reduce waste going to landfill

Hundreds of young people in Sheffield have signed up to take part in a campaign to highlight the importance of reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

Fourteen schools in the city are taking part in Waste Week, run by EDF Energy’s education programme The Pod.

Students will be completing a range of activities throughout March to help everyone reduce food and plastic waste, including investigating their own food waste habits.

They are also designed to spark an early interest in science and engineering.
