SOUTH Yorkshire schools have been saving energy by taking part in the annual Switch Off Fortnight.

Richmond Hill Primary School in Doncaster, The Ellis CE Primary School in Barnsley and Wath Comprehensive School in Rotherham were among those who signed up for the scheme.

The initiative is part of a national education programme to encourage schools to reduce their energy consumption and inspire families and friends to adopt the same good energy habits. Over 250 schools in Yorkshire signed up for the campaign which ended this week.
