BUILDING work on a new £750,000 unit to teach construction courses has begun at a Rotherham secondary school.
The new facilities at Brinsworth Comprehensive School will add to existing vocational areas for courses in horticulture and hair and beauty.
Before now, the construction students have been making do in an industrial unit down the road from the school campus.
Headteacher Richard Fone said: “Building a first-class construction skills centre here on site will mean we can meet even more of our students’ needs even more effectively in the future.”
The school successfully bid for a portion of the Government’s Academies Capital Maintenance Fund.
