Pupils from a Rotherham school rallied round to collect a bumper package of donations for one of the town’s food banks.
Youngsters from Wales High School collected 265 kilogrammes of foodstuffs in a single day for Hope Church, worth almost £450.
Year 10 students Liam Blackwell and Brandon Leo organised the drive.
The bank is organised by the Trusells Trust which makes sure food goes to families and individuals who need help the most.
A school spokesman said the school had really rallied round to help the cause.
“It was a fantastic effort from everyone. Liam and Brandon have issued a big thank you to all the staff, students and parents for their efforts, and we’ve had a massive thank you from the food bank too,” he added.
