Primary school pupils are set to take part in a great debate as Sheffield Hallam University holds a series of events to mark Parliament Week.
Youngsters will spend a day at the Hubs student union on November 15 taking part in activities encouraging them to develop their public speaking and debating skills.
The event will begin with a question-and-answer session with Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield, climaxing in a full parliamentary-style debate with Paul acting as speaker.
The aim of the week is to help young people feel more connected with Parliament and democratic life, and inform them about how they can take part and make their voices heard.
Other organisations in Sheffield getting involved include charities, youth groups, secondary schools and museums.
The programme will be launched on November 14 at St George’s Church lecture theatre on Mappin Street with a public debate involving the Lord Speaker Baroness D’Souza.
