DERBYSHIRE parents applying for places at primary schools in the county will find out if they have been successful on Monday.

Places will be allocated to over 11,200 children starting school for the first time.

Of those who applied by the closing date for infant places 94.6 per cent will be offered their first choice while 98.5 per cent will get one of their top three preferences.

For junior school places already allocated almost 97.7 per cent of parents received their first choice of school and 99.2 per cent received one of their top three choices.

Over 98 per cent of people applied on line. They will also receive an email about their child’s place.

The closing date for appeals is Friday, June 1.
