Ofsted officials have given their backing to measures being taken to improve a Doncaster primary school.
Inpectors returned to the Shaw Wood Academy in Armthorpe, which was deemed to require improvement at its last main inspection, to check progress.
The school has a new headteacher in Jo Campbell after the previous head resigned.
The latest interim report, following a return visit to the school last month, says teaching is improving at a pace because Ms Campbell and her senior colleagues rigorously check on the quality of teaching.
They ‘support and challenge teachers in a timely and proportionate manner’, it added. A letter to Ms Campbell from inspector Anne Bowyer said: “The focus on improving teaching is relentless, but is being managed in a way that is motivating staff to improve their practice.
“You are drawing upon the expertise within school as well as that of external partners. A culture of learning and improving together for the good of the pupils has developed very quickly.”
It also describes improvements in the curriculum in reading, and behaviour management.
