DON Valley MP Caroline Flint was one of over 250 people who visited an exhibition by Kingswood to view plans for a new educational activity centre for young people on the former Earth Centre site.
Ms Flint, who had previously met with the company to discuss its plans, said: “Kingswood has a national reputation for its work with schools, and many people hoped this site could have an educational use, so the reaction of residents I spoke to was very positive.
“Kingswood seems very happy that it has a great site to develop. It will be keeping the existing buildings, extending the existing café and trying to make use of the environmental technologies work wherever this is possible.”
The site will accommodate up to 800 young people and create 200 jobs.
