CHILDREN’S services in Derbyshire are ‘performing well’, according to Government watchdogs.
Inspectors from Ofsted looked at the quality of services provided by Derbyshire County Council. They found the majority of services, settings and institutions are ‘good’ or better and the large majority of provision is effective in supporting children and young people to learn and stay safe.
Strengths included the majority of childcare provision being ‘good’ or better with ‘no inadequate childminders’.
Nurseries and primary schools were said to be ‘good’ with some ‘outstanding’, while there was also found to be good development of children under five.
