YOUNG people struggling to decide on a career path are being given a helping hand.
Dearne Valley College in Wath-upon-Dearne, Rotherham, has launched a new year-long course designed to equip people with essential employment skills before they make a decision about the future.
The programme, called Flex, gives students the opportunity to gain new qualifications, practise interview techniques and improve English, maths and ICT skills.
Vocational timetables will introduce students to a range of subjects including childcare, health and social care, hair and beauty, engineering, hospitality, construction, sport and business.
Kim Shaw, head of Years 14 to 19 at Dearne Valley College, said: “The emphasis is on helping students access the career of their choice.”
