DAMPNESS and mould has forced the closure of a Sheffield primary school, extending the Easter holidays.
Greenhill Primary School will be shut for the rest of this week and is due to reopen next Tuesday.
Work was carried out two years ago on upstairs classrooms and halls at the school to treat areas of damp and to remove mould that had begun to grow in those areas.
Headteacher Julia Brown said: “Unfortunately the damp problem has returned. This needs to be treated as a priority.
“We have taken the decision that the school will remain closed for the rest of the week while work to remove the mould is carried out. Closing the school for any length of time is not something we take lightly.”
