Life chances luck of draw

Pioneering analysis shows youngsters’ life chances are luck of the draw - depending on where they live.

A website has been developed to show the likelihood of 18-year-olds being in education, employment or training according to their postcode.

The site is based on research conducted by the universities of Sheffield and Brighton.

Professor Danny Dorling of the University’s Department of Geography said: “There are huge inequalities between young people’s life chances that increasingly depends on where they are born.”
