DJ Vernon Kay is bringing his Saturday morning breakfast show to Sheffield tomorrow for a special live broadcast.

Vernon will present his BBC Radio One programme live from Sheffield University’s Student Union from 10am to 1pm, in front of an invited audience.

Radio One is also holding a free ‘In New Music We Trust Live’ party at the union’s Fusion and Foundry venues tonight at 7pm.

The event - for an invited audience and ticket winners - features performances from MZ Bratt, Breakage and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, as well as DJ sets from Rob Da Bank and Kissy Sell Out.

Sheffield-based DJ duo Chris Moore and Paul Growns are also appearing, having been chosen for the bill by BBC Radio Sheffield’s Iain Hodgson.

Neil Wyatt, Radio One’s live music and events editor, said: “We’re very proud to be bringing such an amazing line-up of talent to Sheffield. Sheffield has a special place in the history of UK electronic music.”
