SHEFFIELD environmentalist Ian Rotherham is to discuss the catastrophic impact of humans abandoning rural landscapes in favour of urban environments at a free public lecture.

The event takes place on Wednesday, May 23, at 6.30pm.

The talk takes place in Sheffield Hallam University’s Pennine Lecture Theatre in Sheffield city centre.

Ian will look at how the relationships between people and nature have changed, and what the consequences are for issues such as global warming and climate change.

Ian, from Sheffield Hallam University’s department of architecture, says that he believes the lessons of history have been unseen and ignored.
