HEADTEACHERS are gathering to discuss Sheffield Council’s plans to ‘outsource’ its in-house school support service to private contractor Capita.

The service, which covers human resources work, has been losing money because more schools are opting out of council control to become academies and are arranging their own support staff.

Headteachers are unhappy that the contract has been transferred without them being consulted. The meeting is at the Holiday Inn on Victoria Station Road, from 11am until noon next Wednesday.
