A HEALTH and fitness fanatic has been given a boost to help her forge a career in the industry.
Promising Dearne Valley College student Emma Gill has been awarded training, work experience and mentorship to the value of £4,000 to improve her future career prospects.
The Rotherham-based 20-year-old was hand-picked from classmates in the sport and physical recreation department after writing a supporting statement highlighting why she believed she would benefit from the opportunity.
The prize was donated by Envisage, who deliver professional training courses to the health and fitness industry. The company will now help Emma to receive training, with the possibility of a job with the firm at the end of her studies.
Sam Meadows, Dearne Valley College’s area manager for sport and physical recreation, said: “This fantastic opportunity allows one of our students to plan their future in the industry with excellent support and guidance.”
