THE new owners of the derelict Earth Centre have appointed property consultants to oversee the multi-million pound redevelopment of the site near Doncaster.
Leeds-based building consultancy team of GVA will manage the planning, design and contract phases of the project to transform the 50-acre site at Denaby Main into a flagship residential centre for Kingswood, an educational activity services provider.
Director Jon Anderson said: “This is a monumental project and we’re very excited to be involved. Kingswood will build on the site’s natural heritage as a centre of learning for children and young adults.
“They will retain and refurbish the existing buildings as well as building new residential facilities initially to enable 400 visitors to stay at the centre, which looks set for opening spring 2012.”
The multi-million pound programme will also feature an 11,000 square foot sports hall, classrooms, a high adrenaline ropes park, and performing arts facilities.
