Doncaster teenager hurt climbing fence

A TEENAGER had to be airlifted to hospital after he seriously injured himself on railings in Doncaster.

The 16-year-old boy was trying to climb over fencing in Sandford Road, Balby, when the accident happened at about 5pm on Thursday afternoon, with the youngster impaling part of his body on the structure.

His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening but he was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

South Yorkshire Police officers were also at the scene to help clear an area for the air ambulance to land.
