Youngsters from Sheffield’s British-Bangladeshi community have been celebrated for achieving good GCSE results.
An event to celebrate the academic achievements of the teenagers recently took place at the Staniforth Neighbourhood Centre in Darnall.
Clive Betts, Sheffield South East MP, was among the guests as those with the best results were recognised in front of their friends and families.
Mothiur Rahman, organising secretary, said: “This was the first event of its kind by the centre and got the community together to celebrate the achievement of our children.
“Parents commended the ceremony for being a pioneer in the sense it will encourage other children, who will be sitting their GCSEs in future, to do even better.”
