CUTS and organisational changes affecting Sheffield’s 36 children’s centres and early years services will be the subject of a further council debate.

Opposition councillors have succeeded in asking for the plans, which involve £6.8 million of cuts and 50 job losses, to be discussed at a meeting of Sheffield Council’s Children Young People and Family Support Scrutiny Board.

The proposals, which were approved provisionally at a cabinet meeting earlier this month, will be THE subject of further consultation, the council said.

The scrutiny board meeting will be open to the public and takes place on Wednesday, January 9, at 2pm.
