SHEFFIELD students have raised almost £23,000 for South Yorkshire’s homeless and vulnerable people.

The University of Sheffield Students’ Union Raising And Giving RAG committee worked with the university’s Accommodation and Commercial Services on the annual Give As You Rent appeal, which raised a final total of £22,966.

Charities to benefit from the money include Broomhill Breakfast Club which will have its rent paid for a year, the Cathedral Archer Project which will receive food parcels, Dinnington charity Safe@Last which will be able to pay for marketing.
