A Sheffield lecturer has been given a lifetime achievement award for his work in launching hundreds of careers in press photography.

Paul Delmar has taught the flagship photojournalism course at Norton College and its predecessor Richmond College for the past 30 years.

He was given the accolade at the Learning and Skills Improvement Service STAR Awards, which aim to honour unsung heroes of further education.

Paul said: “I am more used to being behind a camera than in front of one. This is tremendous recognition for the college and my students.”
