I have done a lot of listening since I became editor and we are now feeding as much of that as possible back into the paper.

We asked what you want from your local newspaper, which bits you love and what else we should include.

In person, by phone, letter and email you have responded.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

Today there is a new feel to our business news on Pages 20-21.

There is a buzz about the city which you asked us to reflect – let me know if you think we’ve got it right.

You will see more of that throughout the week – more family events, more support for our independent shops, more news about upcoming developments and more tips on where to eat, drink, dance and be seen.

You said you wanted more in-depth stories, but also a more generous helping of easy-to-access small slices of news.

Today’s new-look Pages 2 and 3 are certainly different and jam-packed with information.

Have we got it right?
