In the first trip of the season to Edinburgh Capitals, they collected two points, but only after penalty shots, in a 6-5 away win.

However a 0-3 final period will leave questions to be asked by coach Paul Thompson.

Sheffield strolled to a 4-0 lead through Levi Nelson, debut signing Yared Hagos, John Armstrong and Mathieu Roy.

But they conceded(Pavel Vorobyev) at 19;23 and then tied the middle period Roy and Garrett Milan getting on the scoreboard.

Then came the collapse: Vorobyev getting two and Matt Tipoff scoring with five second left with home goalie pulled.

Thankfully Jesse Schultz and John Armstrong slotted home penalty shots while Caps missed their attempts.
