Eamonn scoring political points

I was pretty disappointed to see Eamonn Ward, (letters, May 18), using poor people to score political points about the state of Sheffield council.

His comment ‘food bank Britain’ suggests that the city is on its knees due to the council.

While I agree it’s a fact that food bank usage is up across the country, I don’t believe it’s any worse in Sheffield than elsewhere.

Voter apathy is a fact. Whoever you vote for, the Government always gets in and so locally it’s always the council.

The faces may change, but the people pulling the strings remain the same.

The answer? Well, slagging off the poor and insufficiently educated, (people not understanding the voting procedure), in the local press is hardly going to bring about his revolution.
