Off-duty nurse rushes to aid of stricken pedestrian after collision in Sheffield
An off-duty nurse rushed to the aid of a pedestrian who was injured in a collision on a busy Sheffield road this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Gleadless Road, near Gleadless Townend tram stop, at around 3.30pm.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said a blue Nissan car had been in a collision with a male pedestrian believed to be approximately 90 years old.
"An off-duty nurse assisted until an ambulance attended."
The road has since reopened.
