Duo needed to complete sword dancing team

A new Sheffield sword dancing group is appealing for two more members to complete its team.

The Woodhouse group formed about three months ago, and currently features four dancers and three musicians.

“Six dancers is an ideal number,” said Stella Roddis.

“We’re working well at the moment with our smaller number, but we could do more with a slightly bigger team.”

Sheffield already has two sword dancing groups, in Handsworth and Grenoside, and Stella says the new group is looking forward to getting some local performances under their belt.

“This is a very traditional form of English dance here in the industrial area of Sheffield.
