Drunken Staveley reveller who abused police officer is ordered to pay £335

Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday, December 1, how Faye Towers, 20, of Devonshire Close, Staveley, had been causing a disturbance outside the Old Whittington Club, in Chesterfield, when police were alerted.

Prosecuting solicitor Becky Allsop said: “A group was gathered and Towers was pointing and shouting at another female.

“She was challenging another female and was pointing despite being told to calm down and go home.

“She began walking away backwards and was told to go home again but she squared up to a police officer and swore at him and she was arrested.”

Towers, who has previous convictions including a drunk and disorderly conviction from May, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in public after the latest incident on November 14.

She told the court: “I’m sorry. It was a silly one night thing.”

She added that it was the first night out she had had since she had her baby.

Magistrates fined Towers £80 and ordered her to pay £85 costs, a £20 victim surcharge and a £150 courts charge.
